The venue itself, Hangar 84 was pretty awesome, not too big, not too small and yielded no gate barricading you from the stage. Its location is odd, one second you’re driving past farms and fields, the next you’re in a downtown atmosphere wondering where the cows went. Being a strange place in the middle of nowhere, the room wasn’t crowded at all, which I like. Small, intimate crowds make for a memorable show. Members of bands were wandering around, and unless you knew of every member in every band chances are there was one standing next to you.
The sweat from Greeley Estates frontman Ryan Zimmerman's face and hair practically soaked me during the show, mostly because of their amazing performance but his sweat could have also been out of frustration due to all the technical difficulties while on stage. The vocals were either too low, or too high, same with the bass and guitars but for the few die-hard fans who were there (including myself) we all sang along and tried not to let it bother us.
Every band did an outstanding performance despite all the sound problems but, The Chariot headlined for a reason. Trashing their instruments to the beat of their songs while a giant lighted skull flashed to the rhythm proved the band doesn't mess around.
In my opinion the show was amazing, but maybe I'm biased due to my love for Greeley Estates. The only thing I recommend is for Hangar 84 to hire a new sound guy so we can actually hear the bands.
